Honey-Do Hero deserves all 5 stars. Joel and Michael installed sliding barn doors for our closets and a new garage door opener, and they did an incredible job. Their communication was great from start to finish, they were easygoing, and genuinely great to work with. The quality of their work speaks for itself, but what stood out most is that they’re just genuinely great guys. Highly recommend.

Joel is AMAZING!! I messaged him to ask for help for my parents to put together a bed. He got me a quote and headed right there. He lives in Mineola and they live in Tyler. So I was very surprised when he said he could get it done today. My parents are a bit cray cray and a lot to deal with but he handled them well and I appreciate that so much. He also put together a chair for them while he was their. I highly recommend him to anyone. His customer service and willingness to get the job done so quickly is definitely top notch!! From DIY Tiny Home to Hopeful Ventures
In 2021, my wife and I took a bold leap toward a simpler, more intentional life. We left behind the noise and busyness of city living and headed for the quiet charm of small-town countryside of Oregon. Our big adventure? Buying a cozy 400 sq. ft. tiny house! Downsizing from 1,200 sq. ft. meant letting go of about 80% of our stuff—a challenge that stretched us but also brought a surprising sense of freedom.
Our little haven sat on raw land, giving me plenty of projects to make it livable. Over time, I’ve handled everything from plumbing and painting to building stairs and installing shelves—just about every task to make it home.
Soon after, I launched my handyman and home care business, Honey-Do Hero, and it took off like a rocket! I’m passionate about helping people and finding solutions to everyday problems.
Then, in November 2024, we made another bold move to Texas! We’ve put down roots in the town of Mineola (don’t worry, y’all—we left Oregon behind). We’re here to serve and be an asset to East Texas.
What makes us unique? We’re cancer fighters and hope givers. My wife, Rebekah, has battled stage four breast cancer for nine years, inspiring us to start our other company, Rebekah’s Hope. I’ve written and published seven books and written numerous published articles. We formed a clothing line and even make special cancer hope boxes. Our mission is to spread hope to others facing cancer, fear, and despair. We even produced an award winning documentary on Rebekah’s life story called “A Brave Hope.” You can watch it on Amazon Prime, Tubi TV, and YouTube.
